This is one of our favorite tracks and also the one most people know. We played this one on video when we broke into the legendary concerthall Vredenburg that was being demolished at the time. You can read about it here (Dutch): 3voor12.vpro.nl/artikelen/artikel/41171982

We had already recorded this song before once, in a flashy high-end studio. Unsatisfied by the high amount of polish and sheen, we decided to never speak of that recording again and do it our way: on the boat, using our gear. Our way.

We had air-raid sirens and all kinds of drums that we played around with. In the end we recorded the vocals with Bram hooked up to a Chinese shock collar so we could electrocute him whilst singing. This added a lot to the sense of approaching danger that the song is about. Those who've ever been in a riot know it's electrifying. The shockers are in there somewhere, if you listen closely, you can hear them coming...
